Vegan Restaurants Derby & Derbyshire

Struggling to find the best vegan restaurants Derby? I’m not a vegan myself, nor have I tried most of these places, but after extensive research (and huge thanks to everyone who has helped with this), here’s my edit of the best plant based options in and around Derbyshire. Updated June 2023.

Fully vegan restaurants, Derby

Sadly, both the vegan restaurants (Plant and Sound Bites) originally featured in Derby have now closed.

Vegan restuarants in and around Chesterfield

Vegged, Chesterfield

Vegged started out as a plant based takeaway only business, specialising in burgers and burritos. They’ve quickly become so popular that they’ve recently opened their own café on Sheffield Road on the outskirts of Chesterfield town centre. I’ve not yet tried them but they get great reviews. The extensive menu has everything from ‘wings’ and skewers to vegan sushi.

Figaro, Wingerworth

Figaro is a recently opened plant based café in Wingerworth. They specialise in serving healthy, wholesome food with an Italian twist. All the food, drinks and cakes served are vegan.

I visited recently and was really impressed with the decor, service and food. The vegan pizzas are really popular – served on a light, crispy base and generously portioned, this is a real treat for vegans. Read my review of Figaro.

Also in Glossop is The Globe, a vegan pub (just be aware that recent Trip Advisor reviews are mixed).
