Struggling to find the best vegan restaurants Derby? I’m not a vegan myself, nor have I tried most of these places, but after extensive research (and huge thanks to everyone who has helped with this), here’s my edit of the best plant based options in and around Derbyshire. Updated January 2022.
Fully vegan restaurants, Derby
Plant on Saddlergate in Derby is a 100% plant based café and bar which gets rave reviews for both it’s food and service. Their daytime menu changes fortnightly to ensure ingredients are always seasonal. Much of the produce is grown by Plant themselves!
Sound Bites, Derby

Vegan restuarants in and around Chesterfield
Vegged started out as a plant based takeaway only business, specialising in burgers and burritos. They’ve quickly become so popular that they’ve recently opened their own café on Sheffield Road on the outskirts of Chesterfield town centre. I’ve not yet tried them but they get great reviews. The extensive menu has everything from ‘wings’ and skewers to vegan sushi.
Figaro is a recently opened plant based café in Wingerworth. They specialise in serving healthy, wholesome food with an Italian twist. All the food, drinks and cakes served are vegan. The menu looks amazing – everything from breakfasts to homemade pizzas to the most delicious sounding salads. They’re running some great special offers to celebrate Veganuary.
Vegan restaurants in the rest of Derbyshire
