I’ve seen some amazing offers and discounts on social media over the last few days and thought it would be useful to gather them together in one place.
I’ve tried to include as much information as possible but I would imagine all of these are subject to availability. Please do double check details before travelling. It goes without saying (although I’m going to say it anyway, because there’s always one isn’t there?!) that this is an incredibly difficult time for the hospitality and tourism industries. Staff shortages are pretty unavoidable and may affect service. Please be patient and kind.
If you see any other similarly great offers from small, local businesses (only the very best please!) then let me know and I’ll keep this updated.
The best offers on eating out, days out and stays in Derbyshire
Remarkable Hare, Matlock
Another place I’ve not been but only hear good things about! I do actually have plans to visit the Hare soon, but this offer is just too good to sit on. Monday to Friday 4pm until 5pm you can get a whopping 50% off all food & drink (excluding spirits and wines). Call 01629 580850 to reserve a table.
If you sign up to their mailing list, you can get 25% off your total bill Monday to Friday. (T&Cs include ordering two courses from their a la carte menu – see their website for full details). There are also various other offers available – see their website for more information.
Nonnas used to be one of my absolute favourites in Chesterfield. I haven’t been recently but this is definitely a great offer to judge for yourself. What is definitely worth praising them for is the efforts of the head chef in providing free meals to people in need on Christmas Day.
The George at Hathersage
The George at Hathersage has been beautifully renovated by the same people who own The Maynard at Grindleford. I’ve not been myself YET but have only heard good things. They are planning a range of January offers with different offers on different days. This includes two wood fired pizzas for £15 which can be eaten in or taken away on Mondays, 20% of all food and drink on Thursdays etc. See the full range of offers here.
Various cafés and restaurants will be running offers to promote Veganuary and their vegan offerings. For more information on the best vegan places read my updated blog post.
These seem to be weekly deals so it’s best to check the socials of the restaurant you are interested in. You can view all of Figaro’s here.
For the first week Plant is offering a free drink with every ‘Plant breakfast’.
Thornbridge Hall is offering free entry to its gardens throughout January. We absolutely love Thornbridge and will be visiting ourselves to take advantage of this. Just be aware that the famous rubber ducky fountain is sadly without ducks currently. The fountains are drained to protect them from frost, but I have been assured they will be back as soon!
Matlock Farm Park
Matlock Farm is a great day out, particularly if you have kids. Do wrap up warm as most of it is outside, although there is indoor play barn. They’re running a great offer in January where a child goes free with every full paying adult. No voucher required. You can book online if you wish or just turn up on the day. Cannot be combined with any other offer.
Rafters Riverside Hotel
The sublime Rafters Riverside Hotel are running an incredible 25% OFF dinner, bed and breakfast throughout January. You can also upgrade to the tasting menu for just £15pp.
Mama Lesa’s Top Tipple Candles
Mama Lesa comes highly recommended by fellow local Instagrammer, Peak Eats. These candles are lovingly crafted in the Derbyshire countryside and packaging in reused gin and whisky bottles and beer cans. There’s currently 20% off her entire Etsy shop.
