This year, Her Majesty The Queen will be the first British Monarch to celebrate seventy years on the throne. The Platinum Jubilee Central Weekend takes place from 2nd to 5th June. Here’s how to find the best celebration events near you in Derbyshire, and some of the most gorgeous gifts and souvenirs from lovely, local, independents.
Platinum Jubilee Events in Derbyshire
I initially started compiling a list of Jubilee Events in Derbyshire – but pretty quickly realised that the official Jubilee website already has all of this information. Event organisers can upload their events. It’s very user friendly and it’s searchable by local area. So do head there to find out what’s on near you.
The official website has lots of other resources including a toolkit to help plan your event – even if that’s just a tea party with your nearest and dearest. There’s everything from recipes to playlists.
Jubilee Gifts and Souvenirs from Derbyshire small businesses
Note that none of these are ‘official’ merchandise. However, I think they are all the more lovely for being an artistic representative of the event. Shop small and local.
Jubilee Story Stones from A Pebble and a Paintbox
As well as being a lovely souvenir, these pebbles can be a lovely way to explain the jubilee to children. Handpainted in Derbyshire by Carly, A Pebble and a Paintbox has a five star rated Etsy store. Stones cost £6.50 and should be ordered ASAP to arrive in time for the Jubilee.

Jubilee Candle from Peak District Candles
One of my favourite local candle companies has launched a limited edition candle for the Jubilee. Inspired by the Queen’s reported loved of cucumber sandwiches, the candle is scented with a fresh, summery scent of cucumber and melon. The candles are hand poured in Derbyshire by owner, Anna using eco-friendly, vegan wax.
Platinum Jubilee Queen Peg Doll from Family Doodle Doo
To celebrate the platinum jubilee and inspired by owner Kaley’s grandma’s love of the royals, is this beautiful, hand painted wooden Queen. In her iconic blue dress complete with pearls and glitter crown, this is a delightful and quirky keepsake (note this is not a toy and not suitable to be played with by young children).
Corgi cookie cutter from Dimensio
Derby based Dimensio handmakes cookie cutters from food safe plastic. This adorable Corgi cookie cutter is perfect for your jubilee themed street party bakes.

Jubilee bows by Nina’s Ark
Nina’s Ark was set up by Derbyshire mum, Kirsty as a creative outlet following the birth of her daughter. These Union Jack bows are the cutest little accessories for your jubilee celebrations.
