[AD] Nestled away in a hidden lane in Bakewell town centre is the sublime Botanicals Bakewell. The organic brand, made in rural Leicestershire, have been supplying spas and beauty professionals for years. They have recently opened a flagship store and wellbeing studio in beautiful Bakewell. I was invited to review a treatment and couldn’t accept the invitation quick enough!

Firstly, Botanicals Bakewell is a little hidden away. I parked in the Granby Road car park and initially struggled to find the salon. If approaching from this direction you need to walk through the garden café seating (there are signs indicating the pedestrian route).

Downstairs is a gorgeous, upmarket retail store filled with their award-winning, certified organic, natural and vegan skincare and bodycare products. Botanicals offer complimentary skincare consultations and sampling, so feel free to pop in during their opening hours. Upstairs are two wonderfully luxurious and private pedicure stations, and the treatment room.

After a quick chat with the owner, Wendy I was introduced to my therapist, Spa Manager, Belinda. All the therapists at Botanicals have been carefully chosen, and most have worked in five star, prestigious spa settings. Belinda instantly put me at ease – she was so engaging and professional and I immediately forgot all my little insecurities and relaxed into the treatment.

I opted for the Timeless Rose Age Confidence Facial (60 minutes, £60 or upgrade to include a 30 minute back, neck & shoulder massage for £90). Using their own product range, this treatment is designed to strengthen, tone and lift skin. The treatment started with a 5 minute welcome touch which involved a quick foot soak as Belinda listened carefully about my skin and explained the treatment.
Then what followed can only be described as an hour of utter bliss. By far and away the best facial I have ever had. There were actually a few brief moments of discomfort as Belinda’s magic hands pummelled away my wrinkles. I have never experienced such an effective treatment. The specialist massage is designed to ensure you leave with plumped up, lifted skin, almost like a Botox effect.
The facial also included a divine scalp massage, and a foot massage (or you can choose a hand massage). I left glowing, with dewey, plumped up skin feeling like a new woman (albeit one who wanted a nap to continue the relaxation!).
I would 100% go back. I am sorely tempted by the membership option. This involves a 90 minute treatment every month saving £30 on standard treatment costs. So basically I could pay the price of this facial and then every month enjoy a back, neck and shoulder massage or a mini manicure or pedicure.
