Valentine’s Gifts from Derbyshire Small Businesses

Park Designs is a small business with a huge heart (and one of my current freelance clients – so technically this section is an AD). Founded by Si Homfray, every piece of art and subsequent product is thoughtfully put together to reflect the brand’s key values of kindness, positivity and care. There’s a huge range quality giftware inspired by Si’s love of the great outdoors.

Probably my favourite design range is the Contour Lines, a vibrant celebration of the geographical contours of some of the UK’s most treasured places, the Fine Bone China Mugs are an utter delight to drink from. There are huge range of thoughtful gifts for walkers, mountain bikers, fans of van life etc.

Just over the Derbyshire border, Aroment hand makes long lasting, highly fragranced home aromas in a range of simple, contemporary designs. The small independent business was founded by Aaron, initially as a hobby, to occupy time and aid sleep during a period of illness. Today, the award-winning brand prides itself on being cost effective and eco-friendly, with all the packaging designed to be either up or recycled.

The Quaint and Quirky have a range of cute, whimsical gifts, perfect for animal lovers. Founder, Claire lives just outside Buxton, and in addition to her love of animals, finds inspiration from the many hot air balloons she sees from her hillside studio. You Make My Heart Soar is an adorable way to let someone know how much they mean to you. All the cards and prints are all printed onto recycled card, with compostable bags, and Claire donates to a dog charity for every card sold. Shop her Valentine’s range.
