[AD] Wild & Other is an exciting rewilding venture dedicated to creating spaces for nature, wonder and rest. Enjoy a restorative, rejuvenating stay in one of their beautiful, sustainable holiday cottages, set in rolling countryside, specifically managed to increase biodiversity.
Derbyshire rewilding project
Wild & Other’s first flagship location is at Cow Close Farm in Cutthorpe, an unspoilt village just outside Chesterfield and on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Here, Wild & Other are working closely with an experienced ecologist to rewild the land. There is a detailed plan in place for the management of the 20 acre site, in order to encourage species of rare birds, small mammals, insects, amphibians, trees and flowers.
Just after its first birthday, the project is already seeing signs of success, seeing barn owls, sparrowhawks and a whole host of other animals (check out Wild & Other’s wildlife cams on their Instagram or Facebook pages)
Eco-friendly holiday cottages
At Cow Close Farm, Wild & Other invites guests to unplug, unwind and reset in one of its cosy, sustainable holiday lets.
Carefully curated by London-based interior designer and co-founder, Emily Coles, Wild & Other’s holiday cottages have been fully refurnished with modern, luxurious fittings. Calming colour palettes are backdrop to comfortable, restful and inviting spaces.
There are already two cottages in a converted barn, and the Wild & Other team are busy putting the finishing touches to an expansive farmhouse, which will sleep eight guests.
Guests are invited to explore the land at their leisure. Such a unique, grounding experience is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
All the accommodation is dog friendly with free on-site parking with electric vehicle charging available.
Further to their rewilding focus, Wild & Other are passionate about sourcing from ethical suppliers such as coffee from B Corp Certified, Chimney Fire Coffee, a quality farm to cup producer in 100% compostable and recyclable packaging.
Wellbeing retreats
The long term vision for Wild & Other includes offering a range of retreats and wellbeing events lead by experienced counsellor and therapist, Michelle Leeder who specialises in creating spaces that are safe for people to become self-aware, safe and relaxed.
