[AD] Café Nellie is the newest addition to Chesterfield’s Chatsworth Road. Named after owner Tracey’s beloved dog, Nellie. Nellie has sadly now passed away, but Café Nellie is delighted to welcome your furry friends. Dogs are actively welcomed. Grab a treat from Nellie’s jar and expect a fuss to be made!

Tracey has run various other successful business ventures in the wider Chesterfield area. Many years ago she ran A Bit of French delivering French patisserie in Clay Cross before then going on to manage the Pekoe Café at the Northern Tea Merchants.
Tracey’s new venture is just doors away from the Northern Tea Merchants. Previously a bookmakers, the building has been completed renovated. The décor is a lovely mix of exposed brickwork, period green walls and an eclectic mix of artefacts and art.

Menu at Café Nellie, Chesterfield
I couldn’t find a menu online beforehand so I’m going to take some pictures I took – in case you are a menu fiend like me! But basically it’s tea room style – a small range of breakfasts, lots of panini and sandwich options, simple salads, cakes etc.

I ordered scrambled egg and bacon which was lovely (note it would normally come with butter too).

The coffee at Café Nellie is exceptionally good. They serve their very own blend from local coffee company, Arden. You can also buy the beans to take away, or they’ll grind them to order.

I didn’t indulge on this occasion (it being breakfast for a start!) but the cakes looked amazing! Made by a local, specialist baker, there were a really good range of delicious looking options – as well as homemade scones.

Café Nellie has big plans. They’re hoping to be licenced soon – so you’ll be able to enjoy a glass of wine or beer. They’re also hoping to open on Sundays – and plan on offering a special breakfast menu. Keep an eye on their socials for details.
